Tasting Notes: Bunnahabhain Mòine Bordeaux RedWine Cask matured

Bunnahabhain Mòine Bordeaux RedWine Cask matured, 9yo, 58,1%vol, Btl 869-4536

Nose: an unexpected walk in a cypress grove. Fresh, earthy, and herbal with a dark honey sweetness and a tiny hint of sandal wood. At least traces of coffee. Surprisingly we didn't talk about smoke, even it is there albeit very decent.

Taste: it is slightly peppery on the tongue, then the smoke comes through like a incense stick. Surprisingly the influence of the wine cask was more for the balance and the complexity. On our oppinion a good expression for a perfect maturation in a wine cask.

After a while in the glass we found some hints of walnuts.

Only the sweetness we found while nosing was missing on the palate.
