Das Feis ist erwachsen geworden. So viel steht fest am letzten Tag des Festivals. An jedem Tag, in jeder Destille war alles angerichtet für eine schöne Feier, ohne jedoch die spielerische Leichtigkeit zu verlieren. Klare Kommunikation mit dem Gast und schöne Themen.
So standen wir also erneut in einer Warteschlange bei diesem Festival, wartend diesmal auf Einlass zur Ardbeg (early) Night - zu den Schmugglern ...

The Feis has grown up, that much was for certain on the last day of the festival. On every day, in every distillery, everything was served for a nice party without giving up the playful easiness. Clear communication with the visitors and beautiful themes.
So once more we queued up during this festival, waiting for access to Ardbeg (early) Night – and to the smugglers…
Bereits am Eingang begrüßte uns das gesamte Ardbeg Team in historischen Kostümen. Mickey Heads gab weitreichende Informationen in den Ablauf des Tages und gleichzeitig auch den Startschuss zum finalen Open Day des Feis 2016.

Already at the entrance the whole Ardbeg team were welcoming us in historic costumes. Mickey Heads presented extensive information about the program for the day and fired the starting shot for the final Open Day of Feis 2016.
Für 20 GBP konnten wir aus verschiedenen mit Wasser gefüllten Fässern Flaschen ziehen. Diese enthielten unsere Eintrittskarten für diverse Tastings - chiffriert versteht sich...
Es war eine riesen Gaudi - bestimmt keiner unzufrieden, manche mit den Golden Tickets mit Sicherheit zu Recht ein wenig selig. Wir alle waren jedoch gleich gefangen im Thema des heutigen Tages.

For a fee of 20 gbp, we were able to draw mini bottles from tubs filled with water. These held our tickets for various tastings – encrypted, of course…
This was brilliant fun, no one left dissatisfied, some with those rare golden tickets certainly felt blessed for sure. But all of us were captured in the mood of this day from the very beginning.
Nach erfolgreicher Dechiffrierung unseres Tickets fanden wir uns pünktlich am angegebenen Ort ein. Ganz leise folgten wir Gillian in ihr Zuhause für diesen Nachmittag, wo wir mit ihr "Tee" trinken wollten.
Dort weckten wir den schwer gezeichneten Ehemann, der uns Schauriges aus der Destille zu erzählen wusste. Die Zeit verging viel zu schnell bei "Tee", "Irn Bru" und dem einen oder anderen leckeren Tropfen, der sich in verschiedenen Verstecken fand.

After succeeding in decrypting the message, we managed to be at the named place in time. Silently we followed Gillian to her home for this afternoon, where we were invited to have ‘tea’ with her.
The badly marked husband found there knew a lot of scary stories about the distillery. Time passed quickly while having ‘tea’, ‘Irn Bru’ and other delicate sips found in various hidden spots.
Anschließend stärkten wir uns erst einmal mit einem der unwiderstehlich leckeren Abroath Smokies und tauschten mit den Freunden Geschichten über die Tastings aus - jedes einzelne Event war interessant und spannend.

Subsequently we recovered with some of the irresistible tasty Abroath Smokies and exchanged stories about our tastings with friends – all of them were interesting and exciting.

Das Schmugglerleben an diesem Tag war wirklich nicht zu verachten.

Tja, leider haben wir den ARDBEG-Day nur aus der Ferne für ca. 1 min. digitalisieren können... Danach mussten wir zurück nach GOG (Good Old Germany).... Its a pity... but the week was great anyway...
